As she watched the baby boy, she saw Pharaoh’s daughter come down to the river. Was that a basket among the reeds? What was in the basket? Pharaoh’s daughter opened the basket to find the Israelite baby, crying and alone. She took one look at him and felt sorry for him because she knew he was one of the Israelite babies that should have been killed.
The baby boy’s sister, Miriam, approached Pharaoh’s daughter and said “Would you like me to get one of the Israelite women to look after him for you?” “Yes, please” Pharaoh’s daughter replied. So the boy was given back to his mother, who was able to look after him until he was old enough to be welcomed into Pharaoh’s family.
But the women were chased away by some shepherds.
One day, Moses sat down next to a well. Some women, who were sisters, came to the well to draw water for their animals.
In order to escape being killed, Moses ran away from Egypt and went to live in a place called Midian.
He killed the Egyptian and hid the body.
When he saw an Israelite slave being beaten by an Egyptian soldier, he decided to take action.
One day, when Moses was an adult, he went to watch the Israelite people who were hard at work. He was not happy with what he saw.
